一、What is a USB-IF certification?

USB-IF, full USB Implementers Forum, is a non-profit organization founded by a group of companies that develop the universal serial bus specification. The USB-IF organization was established to promote general serial bus technology and provide corresponding technical specifications to promote the development of high quality USB peripherals (equipment) and make the specification products pass the compatibility test smoothly. USB-IF certification is actually a voluntary logo certification implemented by USB-IF organization. USB-IF test is sometimes popularly called "eye map test".

二、USB-IF member

1. Full member

There are many such members and thousands of such members. Become a USB-IF member and pay an annual fee of US$5,000, you can get the vendor identifier for free, become a full USB-IF member, and you can participate in the USB-IF standard group discussion.

2. Temporary member

Interim members, also known as non-USB-IF members, pay a fee of US$6,000 to obtain the vendor identifier. In addition, US$3,500 is required to use the USB mark for 2 years (This fee will not be charged if you are a USB-IF member).

六、Why the USB-IF certification?

USB-IF certification is generally based on the requirements of the client. The USB function used in high-end products generally has to apply for USB-IF certification. After USB products apply for the association certification, they can use the USB logo and obtain the TID number of USB products. For USB products to use the logo and have a TID number, they must first apply to the USB Association for their membership before applying for component certification.
