First, Japan JATE certification concept:

JATE (Japan Approvals Institute for Telecommunications Equipment) is the lead registrar of approvals for technical compliance of telecommunications equipment in Japan. JATE Certification of Conformity of Telecommunication equipment JATE certification of conformity of telecommunication equipment connected with telecommunication network needs to be certified of technical regulations. Jate certification is mandatory and the certification body is a registered certification body recognized by MIC. Japan's Ministry of Public Administration and Internal Affairs, Post and Telecommunications and Communication (MPHPT) in Japan's telecommunications and communications Business Law, the implementation of compulsory certification of Japanese telecommunications equipment.

Two, the importance of JATE certification:

JATE certification is commonly known as the telecommunications law of Japan. Mobile phone products generally need to meet the testing requirements of Japan's telecommunications law (commonly known as JATE certification) and radio wave law (commonly known as TELEC certification) before they can be legally listed.

Three. Certification standards

The certification standards are determined by JATE in accordance with the requirements of MIC and the technical requirements of the operators authorized by MIC and with reference to the Telecommunications Act.

Special reminder: When doing Telec/MIC certification, if the transmitting power of low-output wireless phones, wireless microphones, emergency alarm transmitters and FM transmitters in the current market is less than the limit shown in the following figure, this function can not be certified.

Five, JATE certification type (two)

1) Technical Conditions Compliance Certification

Technical condition conformance certification includes type approval and single machine certification. Technical Condition compliance certification ensures that telephone network equipment, wireless calling equipment, ISDN equipment, leased line equipment, etc. meet the technical requirements set by MPHPT (terminal equipment regulations).

2) Technical Requirements Compliance Certification

Technical requirements conformity certification includes type approval and stand-alone certification. Technical requirements compliance certification ensures that wireless calling equipment, leased line equipment, and other telecommunications equipment meet certain technical requirements set by telecom operators authorized by MPHPT.

Currently available in Japan are: PHS, PDC, CDMA2000, WCDMA. PHS is a technology developed locally in Japan, which has also been introduced in China. It is known as PHS. PDC is also a native Japanese technology and is still mainly used in Japan. CDMA2000 and WCDMA are two of the familiar 3G technologies. GSM phones are not available in Japan because the country does not have a GSM network.

The requirements for JATE authentication of mobile terminals are mainly protocol testing, which is as follows:

4. Random access control

5. Time alignment control

6. Location registration control

7. Function for complying with channel switching indication

8. Functions for receiving level reports

9. Functions to comply with the direction to stop transmission

10. Function automatically to suspend transmission when the receiving level has become degraded

12. Function to ensure important communication

Six, JATE certification mark requirements:

Jate dimensions should be 5 mm or larger in diameter (3 mm or larger for radio equipment with a volume of 100 cubic cm or smaller).

The numbers after T and R in the authentication mark are the ISBN number on the certificate after the authentication is complete. "R" is the ISBN number of TELEC authentication, and "T" is the ISBN number of JATE authentication.

Seven,Notes for JATE Certification:

1) The product must obtain QDL/EPL certification;

2) The original documents must be sent to Japan;

3) The number of samples varies according to different types of products;

4) For ordinary telephone devices, they only need to be certified by JATE according to the requirements of the Telecommunications Business Act.
