Canada notified on July 5,2023 that the ISED wireless device listing fee of $50 / Listing will be abolished, generating a new device registration fee, payable in the following two categories:

1. The new application registration fee (The Terminal Apparatus Register or and Radio Equipment List (New single or New family applications)) is $750;

2. The cost of change application registration (including C1PC, C2PC, C3PC, C4PC, Multiple listings and Transfer of certification) is $375.

What is an IESD?

ISED, formerly known as IC (Industry Canada), has officially changed its name to Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) since 2016, and is responsible for the certification of electronic and electrical products into the Canadian market. ISED certification is the pass for electronic and electrical products to enter the Canadian market. Products within the certification scope must be certified before entering the Canadian market for sale.

The ISED certification method

ISED: self-verification and Certification certification can be used.

ISED ID: The original IC number was renamed as ISED Number, but its expression form on the label remains the same, or IC: XXXXX-YYYYYYYYY.

Canadian IC Certified Products:

1. Products of lamps and lanterns;

2. Information technology and peripheral products;

3. Audio and video products;

4. Mechanical products.

Application process for IC certification: 

1. Fill in the application form;

2. Sample sending and testing;

3. Product rectification (if the inspection fails);

4. Pass the test report.

The IC ID certification also requires:

Submit the test report and data to FCB / TCB organization for review and certification.
