Google announced that the PDK component version of Android Auto has been updated to 4.5, officially released on April 17,2025. Google has always prioritized enhancing the quality and user experience of Android Auto. This new version incorporates numerous new features and improvements, further strengthening Android Auto's performance to make it more powerful and versatile.
To ensure users can enjoy the latest and best Android Auto features and experiences, Google strongly recommends upgrading to the latest version within 12 months of release. At the same time, please pay attention to the lifecycle of each version to avoid using unsupported versions that have reached their end-of-life (EOL) dates when submitting green light materials. In special cases, obtain written approval from Google in advance.
The following table shows the receiver library versions supported by Google and their release and discontinuation dates:
Note that:
(1) 4.1.3 The version has reached the end of its life, that is, it has been completely discontinued and does not recommend that partners continue to use it to avoid affecting the normal operation of Android Auto related functions.
(2) 4.2.2 Version means that Google will no longer support it after June 2025, and continued use may face problems such as unrecoverable functional defects.
(3) Version 4.3 has been deprecated due to the need for VEM fixes.
(4) 4.3.2 Version Google will no longer provide support and update services for version 4.3.2 as of April 3, 2026. Partners need to consider upgrading before that date.
(5) Version 4.5 is the version of this update. Google has not yet determined when this version will be discontinued, and it is expected to continue maintenance and updates for some time to come.
