On September 9, 2025, the Bluetooth SIG (Bluetooth SIG) issued a notice of double adjustment: from March 1, 2026, all existing member fees will increase by approximately 8.7%; at the same time, the validity period rules of RN number (Receipt Number) are updated simultaneously.
1. General increase in membership fees
The Board of Directors of Bluetooth SIG (BoD) stated that the fee increase is to cover the current and planned cost increases for member services, while the alliance is also pushing forward with cost control measures. In terms of specific adjustments, annual fees and product certification fees for different types of members have increased to varying degrees:
(1) Annual membership fee (Membership fees)
In addition to the free maintenance of membership annual fees, both large and small alliance members saw their fees increase by about 8.7 percent.
(2) Product qualification fee
Product certification costs for both general adopter members and alliance members increased by approximately 8.7%.
2. Adjustment of RN Number Validity Period
In addition to the fee increase, Bluetooth SIG has made differentiated adjustments to the validity period rules of "RN number (Receipt Number)", as follows:
App Members: Receipt Numbers purchased from September 9, 2025 will be valid for six months from the payment date.
Alliance Members: Receipt Numbers purchased from September 9, 2025 will be valid for 12 months from the date of payment.
In short, regular members need to be more careful about planning their purchases to avoid "buying ahead without using them" and wasting costs; while senior alliance members have a 12-month buffer period, they still need to plan their purchases in line with product certification cycles.
