1. Notice of Changes to SRRC Certification Standards
As stipulated in the "Notice on Strengthening and Regulating Radio Management in the 2400MHz, 5100MHz, and 5800MHz Frequency Bands" (Document No.: MIIT [2021] 129) issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the upgrade of the old SRRC certificate has established a "final window period" with no buffer period or extension channel.
lAs of October 15,2023, all new applications for SRRC certification must comply with the new standard testing, and applications under the old standard will no longer be accepted.
lThe final deadline for upgrading the old certificate is 24:00 on December 31,2025. The old SRRC certificate will be automatically invalidated and permanently cancelled by the system if the upgrade is not completed by the deadline.
This means that the existing old standard certificate needs to be changed before the deadline, otherwise it will directly affect the market access of products, and cannot be sold and circulated in compliance!
2. What is SRRC certification?
SRRC certification (also known as Radio Type Approval Certification) is a mandatory certification system implemented by the Chinese mainland for radio transmitting equipment. It is managed by the State Radio Regulatory Commission of the People's Republic of China and currently executed by the Radio Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Its core role is to ensure that radio equipment complies with national technical standards, prevent mutual interference between devices, and maintain radio wave order.
3. Core Details of Standard Upgrade
1. More stringent technical standards
The file specifies clear upgrade requirements for the 2.4GHz/5.1GHz/5.8GHz device:
l2.4GHz products must meet the new sideband spurious limit values (e.g., the 2483.5-2500MHz band limit is raised to-40dBm/MHz);
lAdd interference avoidance test, which requires the provision of special test samples and supporting equipment, and the product must have interference avoidance mechanism.
2. Certificate validity period differences
lOld standard certificate: valid until December 31,2025, no extension is possible;
lNew standard certificate: valid for 5 years after issuance, compliance guarantee is more long-term and stable.
4. Required application materials for the conversion of old standards to new standards
To upgrade the old certificate, the applicant shall submit the following complete documents:
lRadio Transmitter Equipment Type Approval Application Form-The implementation standard is indicated as MIIT No.129 [2021];
lThe proxy letter and scanned copy of the applicant's ID card (stamped with the official seal of the applicant, color scanned);
lApplication unit request letter: explain the upgrade reason and corresponding product information;
lOriginal Radio Transmitter Equipment Type Approval Certificate: The original paper copy should be sent back to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology;
lTest report: select the report issued by the testing organization approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology;
lSample requirements: one fixed-frequency conduction prototype and one adaptive (interference avoidance) test prototype.
