1.Why do I need to register WERCS?
To better understand the ingredients in the products in consumers' hands, retailers collect detailed information on chemicals through the Chemical Assessment Review Process (CARP).
• Retailers can have access to specific SDS safety data sheets and other information to provide to relevant agencies and consumers in a timely manner.
• Further effective environmental protection in compliance with federal, state and regional laws.
2. Which products need to be registered in WERCS?
• The product contains certain chemicals and the retailer uses the WERCSmart system;
• Ordinary clothing and food do not need to be registered, except for food in special container devices (such as spray bottles or vacuum tubes);
• Retailers require suppliers to register;
• At present, the most common products are batteries/cell and battery-containing products (such as electric toys, portable power supply, Bluetooth speakers, etc.);
• Simply put, for battery-containing products to be sold in large supermarkets in the United States, both the finished product manufacturer and the battery or cell manufacturer must register WERCS.

4. WERCS Registration Instructions
During the product registration process, WERCSmart requires brands, manufacturers, distributors and third-party formulators (collectively referred to as "suppliers") to provide product data such as chemical composition, physical properties, transportation information, and various safety and certification documents such as safety Data Sheets (SDS).
5. WERCS registration process
(1) Apply for membership;
(2) Registration and subscription (you need to register several products for advance subscription);
(3) Payment of subscription fee: The subscription fee is determined according to the product and quantity;
(4) Submit registration;
(5) Confirm the expenses and review them;
(6) Registration is completed, and the ID can be found on the official website.
