In the digital broadcasting sector, DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcasting) has become the mainstream technical solution for in-vehicle audio systems across Europe. The WorldDAB Forum continuously collaborates with the entire automotive industry chain to promote the deployment of in-vehicle digital broadcasting technology; the DAB+ logo serves as a key identifier used within the industry to determine whether a product complies with DAB+ technical specifications.

1、Vehicle integration of DAB+ – Core Value
In scenarios such as high-speed vehicle travel, urban skyline obstruction, or tunnel driving, traditional FM analog broadcasting is prone to issues like noise or signal interruption; however, DAB+ effectively addresses these common challenges in in-vehicle listening experiences:
1. Stable signal reception: Digital broadcasting offers excellent interference resistance, ensuring continuous playback during transit while significantly reducing noise and signal drift;
2. Non-cellular network dependency: Utilizes independent terrestrial broadcast transmission, requiring no data usage, making it a reliable backup channel for in-vehicle streaming audio;
3. Comprehensive additional services: Supports the display of program-related text and images as well as road condition information; integrates with the ASA Automatic Safety Alert function and can also receive early warnings for disasters or public emergencies.
According to the European Electronic Communications Standard (EECC), new vehicles sold or leased within the European Union that are equipped with a radio receiver must possess digital terrestrial broadcasting reception capability; DAB+ is the mainstream technical approach to comply with this regulation.
Note: The DAB+Logo is a voluntary industry certification, not a mandatory legal requirement, and it cannot replace EU mandatory radio frequency compliance certifications such as CE-RED. Products are eligible to use this certification only after passing the relevant testing and approval processes; it is often used as an important reference criterion by European automotive manufacturers when selecting vehicles.

2、Full industry chain coordination and refinement of in-vehicle DAB+ technology
To address the specific operational requirements of automotive applications, WorldDAB has established an Automotive Working Group that brings together various stakeholders across the industry chain—including broadcasters, vehicle manufacturers, Tier 1 component suppliers, network operators, and aftermarket equipment manufacturers—to engage in collaborative R&D efforts focused on three key areas:
1. Optimize the in-vehicle interface interaction to enhance the human-machine operation experience;
2. Improve the receiver–antenna configuration to enhance signal reception sensitivity;
3. Provide supporting technical support to automotive aftermarket manufacturers.
By collaboratively addressing various technical challenges in automotive applications across the industrial chain, we support the standardization and unified implementation of industry-wide technical standards.
3、DAB+Logo Certification Value
Driven by both policy and regulatory frameworks as well as the continuous evolution of industrial upgrading, DAB+ has become the mainstream configuration for in-vehicle audio systems in Europe. For Chinese companies expanding overseas, while the DAB+ logo is not a mandatory requirement for customs clearance, it serves as an important industry reference for selecting suppliers in international supply chains, providing clear evidence that a product complies with industry technical specifications.
